About this space
We are renting out the bottom floor of our home. In our backyard, there is a beautiful tidal creek, a dock, and a fire pit. Private entrance. Recently added kitchen area in laundry room.
A great place to bring your kayaks or to fish and to essentially get away from the hustle and bustle of where you live. Nearby is Hunting Island, our state park and public beach. The home is 20 minutes from downtown historical Beaufort.
The space
The road to our home is 1/2 mile on a dirt road, which can be bumpy after heavy rains.
We have added curtains for privacy, but I highly recommend leaving them open overnight so you are awoken to our lovely sunrises each morning.
We do not personally have a dog. But, I do allow dogs. I have two separate sets of linens: one for those like me with no pets, and one for those who are bringing their bud. We do have an additional $40 pet cleaning fee because it does take more time to clean after such a visit. We need to know in advance if you plan to bring your pet so we can setup accordingly.
Guest access
You will enter through the french doors (keyless entry) on the ground level. As you enter the hallway, the laundry room, small kitchen area are in front of you. At the end of the hallway, turn left into the master suite.
Other things to note
The king size bed is a pillow-top mattress, which provides a great nights rest for those folks that do not need a firm mattress.
To get to a bike path on the main road, ride 1/2 mile down our dirt road, then 1-2 miles until you reach Hwy 21. You can ride to Hunting Island (9 miles) or downtown Beaufort (12 miles) or stay on St. Helena (no bike lanes).
The Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) on Parris Island is about 17 miles (30-minute drive) away.
The creek at the back of the house is tidal; it is full at high tide and empties to a mud bottom at low tide. The closest tide station is at the Harbor River Bridge, which crosses the Harbor River and connects Saint Helena Island with Harbor Island on your way to Hunting and Fripp islands.
