Edward Emil Kranepool (born November 8, 1944) is a former first baseman who spent his entire Major League Baseball career with the New York Mets. At age 17, Kranepool was six years younger than the next-youngest '62 Met. He made his major league debut wearing number 21 on September 22, 1962. The piece is a 11x14 placed in a 13x16 horizontal solid cherry wooden frame with 1 inch in depth with glass to protect the autograph and photo. An 8x10 color photo and a 2.5x3.5 autographed colored card with a geniune 1962 US Nickel and hand signed in blue ink by Ed Kranepool are centered in a blue mat with orange borders on the frame. A golden name plate is centered on the bottom right part of the mat with the engraving in black letters “Ed Kranepool Genuine 1962 U.S. Nickel Authentic Signature”. The Certificate of Authentication (COA) from Professional Forensics Examiner Christopher L. Morales and hologram #12843 are enclosed in an envelope and attached to the back of the plaque. The frame includes a horizontal frame holder attached to the back. The piece weighs 3 pounds.
