Sammy Kaye (March 13, 1910 – June 2, 1987), born Samuel Zarnocay, Jr., was an American band leader and songwriter, whose tag line, "Swing and Sway with Sammy Kaye", became one of the most famous of the Big Band Era. Kaye could play the saxophone and the clarinet, but he never featured himself as a soloist on either one. A leader of one of the so-called "Sweet" bands of the Big Band Era, he made a large number of records for RCA Victor, Columbia Records, and many other. Shortly after the Japanese attack on December 7, 1941, Sammy Kaye wrote the music and Don Reid wrote the words to "Remember Pearl Harbor". The piece is a 16x20 placed in a 20x24 horizontal bronze wooden frame with 1 inch in depth with glass. Clear glass was used on this fine piece to protect the autograph, photos and letter. A signed 8x10 friendly letter from Sammy Kaye to a Mr. Leslie G. Wrigley and a 4x4 black and white photo of Sammy Kaye, and a 4x6 black and white photo of Sammy Kaye with the band is centered in a beige mat with dark green borders on the frame. A golden name plate is centered on the bottom part of the mat with the engraving in black letters “Sammy Kaye American Band Leader & Songwriter". The Certificate of Authentication (COA) is from PAAS MF12716 is enclosed in an envelope and attached to a white mat on the back of the frame. The frame includes a horizontal frame holder attached to the back. The piece weighs 6 pounds.
