Waite Charles Hoyt (September 9, 1899 – August 25, 1984) was an American right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball, one of the dominant pitchers of the 1920s, and the winningest pitcher for the New York Yankees during that decade. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969. His performance there attracted the attention of the Yankees, who acquired him in 1920. In his first season as a Yankee, he won 19 games and pitched three complete games in the World Series without allowing an earned run — over his career, he would win six American League pennants with the Yankees and one with the Philadelphia Athletics. The piece is a 9 x 12, placed on a 11 1/2 x 14 1/2 vertical cherry styrene frame with 1 inch in depth with glass. Clear glass was used on this fine piece to protect the autograph and photo. The frame includes a gre\ay mat. A 3 1/4 x 5 1/4 (lithograph) color photo and a 3 1/4 x 1 1/8 cut card signed in black ink by Waite Hoyt. The Certificate of Authentication (COA) is from P.A.A.S. No. MF05099. It includes a vertical frame holder; the frame weighs 2 1/2lbs.
