Henry Zimmerman,  Easy Company was activated in 1942 for the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment in the U.S. Army at Camp Toccoa, Georgia, as part of the airborne infantry. It was used as an experimental unit flying in C-47 transport planes to drop soldiers into hostile territory. It was made of three platoons and a headquarters section. There were three rifle squads in each platoon, a mortar squad in each platoon, and a machine gun attached to each rifle squad. Its commander was 1st lieutenant Herbert Sobel, later promoted to captain, Henry Zimmerman served as Private first class. The piece is 11x14 placed on a 13x16 vertical blronze wooden frame with 1 inch in depth with glass. Tru Vue Conservation Grade 99% UV protection glass was used on this piece to protect the autograph and photo. An 8x10 sepia photo of Henry Zimmerman, hand signed in black ink is centered in a cream colored mat with brown borders around the photo. A gold colored name plate is centered below the photo with the inscription in black letters "Henry Zimmerman Member of the WWI Band of Brothers 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division". The Certificate of Authentication (COA) from JG Autographs SKU# 155155 is enclosed in an envelope and attached to the back of the frame.
